Job Description
■Recruitment Background
GU, one of the Fast Retailing Group’s flagship brands, aims to become a true global brand by promoting its brand message, “YOUR FREEDOM: The freedom to reinvent yourself,” creating hit products that capture major trends, preventing stockouts of best-selling items, and delivering products and services that exceed customer expectations.
GU still faces many challenges on its path to becoming a true global brand. These include building a stronger management team through the recruitment and development of a diverse workforce; enhancing the quality of products and styling; creating store environments that make shopping easier for customers;improving the accuracy of inventory and sales forecasts, and establishing a flexible system for additional production. We are seeking a candidate to serve as a leader in fashion PR who can join us in advancing this global challenge—based on GU’s unique brand value of allowing customers to enjoy fashion to the fullest with a minimal number of SKUs and affordable prices—through transformations across all aspects of the apparel business.
■Department Overview
The mission of the PR Team within the Marketing Department, to which you will be assigned, is to communicate GU’s value—across all aspects including products, people, stores, and social contributions—to customers worldwide through the media and stakeholders under the brand message “YOUR FREEDOM,” thereby building our reputation as a dynamic global fashion brand and driving sales promotion.
The PR Team fulfills two roles—Corporate PR and Fashion PR—and handles everything from planning to execution of PR and communication initiatives that raise awareness of and drive sales for projects such as seasonal products and collaboration campaigns, as well as PR related to stores, people, and corporate activities. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for Fashion PR.
■Job Description
・Planning and executing media events both domestically and internationally, such as trade shows and strategic announcements
・Securing media coverage through the distribution of PR releases and newsletters
・Developing proposals to secure coverage in TV, newspapers, publishing houses, and online media
・Building relationships with the media and stakeholders
・Collaborating with GU PR representatives in overseas countries and regions to support the planning and execution of global PR strategies
・Global crisis management
・Quantifying the effectiveness of PR activities and ensuring accurate internal feedback on media responses and insights
*The Job Description is subject to change within the scope of duties related to each department at headquarters due to department transfers or organizational changes.
■ Career Path
In the future, we expect you to take on the role of a marketing leader (Manager or Department Head) for brands expanding not only domestically but also globally.
