Job Description

Reason for Hiring

At the Fast Retailing Group, we view our e-commerce business not merely as a function of retail, but as a cornerstone of sales transformation—"making e-commerce our core business"—designed to ensure customers can immediately purchase the clothes they truly want, exactly when they want them. We are driving this transformation globally. Within this framework, delivery is a critical function that determines both the customer experience and the competitiveness of our e-commerce business. As we move toward in-house e-commerce delivery services and the global enhancement of our systems, we are seeking individuals who can work in tandem with the E-Commerce Division and the Customer Center—which gathers customer feedback—to conceptualize and execute delivery services globally, based on an understanding of the ideal shopping experience.

Department Overview

The Global Supply Chain Management Department, to which you will be assigned, is responsible for the end-to-end design and evolution of the process by which products—from all Fast Retailing Group brands, including UNIQLO—travel from production to the customer’s doorstep.

In the e-commerce domain of this position, you will work closely with multiple internal departments—including e-commerce, merchandise planning, inventory management, the Customer Center, and IT—to design and implement the delivery system itself, starting from the question, “What kind of shopping experience do we want to deliver to our customers?” This is an environment where you can take a proactive role in building the foundation that supports business growth.

Job Description

You will drive the planning and evolution of our delivery functions based on e-commerce business plans, KPIs, and customer feedback. You will be responsible for multiple projects, such as the following:
  • Aligning with e-commerce business strategies and customer experience guidelines, you will plan and design delivery services as a key function of the e-commerce business, and drive the development and improvement of operational frameworks—including in-house operations.
  • In collaboration with overseas business units and third-party delivery partners, lead the development and refinement of globally scalable delivery operations and collaboration models
  • Identify challenges in the delivery domain based on customer feedback—such as product reviews received by the customer service center and various qualitative and quantitative data—and drive improvement projects
  • Lead efforts to resolve challenges in the store delivery sector—including long-haul transportation—and related projects to optimize inventory and transportation across both e-commerce and brick-and-mortar stores

Career Path

After gaining experience at our Japan headquarters—our global headquarters—you will have opportunities to take on a wide range of management challenges, such as serving as a logistics manager at the global headquarters or in overseas operations, extending beyond e-commerce delivery. We consider career development and internal transfers based on your aspirations and aptitude.

  • Experience identifying fundamental challenges in the e-commerce delivery and operations domains based on quantitative results and qualitative information, and planning and driving improvement measures
  • Experience in viewing delivery and logistics not merely as operations, but as integral parts of the e-commerce business and customer experience, and taking a proactive role in solving related challenges
  • Experience driving projects in collaboration with stakeholders in various countries and external partners

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience collaborating with overseas business locations or working on global projects
  • Business-level English proficiency
