Department Overview

The Digital Business Transformation Services Department’s mission is to define the “ideal state” of business operations from the customer’s perspective and to lead and implement business transformations utilizing the latest IT technologies. To realize the “Ariake Project,” we are accelerating in-house development not only of e-commerce and store systems but also of core systems centered on the supply chain. A wide range of professionals—including project managers, in-house development engineers, data scientists, and UI/UX designers—are actively contributing to this effort.Cloud Infrastructure Engineers and Network Engineers are part of the “Infrastructure Team” and take the lead in the end-to-end design, construction, and operation of infrastructure for all of the Group’s global brands.

Job Description

• Planning, designing, and implementing global network architectures for next-generation systems utilizing cloud services
• Standardization, design, and implementation of optimal store networks aligned with customer service and digital app deployments at over 3,500 stores worldwide
• Designing and implementing networks to support the expansion of global locations (offices, warehouses, data centers, etc.)
• Optimizing network resource utilization and evaluating and implementing security measures using proxy servers, firewalls, WAN acceleration, SDN, CDN, SSL-VPN, and other technologies provided by cloud services or data centers

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience in the design, development, and operation of IT systems and networks (at least 3 years of practical experience in any one of these areas)
• A sense of ownership that enables you to solve specific problems—from requirements definition through to operations—beyond just implementation and development
• Leadership that enables you to proactively identify challenges, engage those around you in a proactive and global manner, and resolve issues with attention to detail
• Experience in organizational or project management, or in mentoring subordinates and junior staff
• Candidates who are willing to actively engage in a work environment where English is used on a daily basis *Fluency or professional experience at this stage is not required.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities (*At least one area of expertise or experience is required)

• Planning, building, and operating global networks optimized for the cloud era
• Planning and implementing efficiency improvements for the network infrastructure of stores and offices operating across multiple global locations
• Design, configuration, and troubleshooting of network devices such as firewalls and routers
• Optimization of network resources and costs using proxy servers, WAN acceleration, SDN, CDN, SSL-VPN, etc.

Annual Salary

• Annual Salary Range: 6.56 million yen – 14.94 million yen (Monthly Salary: 410,000 – 830,000 yen)
• Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
• Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
• Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
