Job Description
■Recruitment Background and Department Mission
UNIQLO, a core brand within the Fast Retailing Group, champions “LifeWear” (clothing designed to enrich the lives of everyone—the ultimate everyday wear) as its clothing philosophy. This philosophy embodies sustainability itself, and through all of our business activities, we aim to realize a sustainable society by joining forces with outstanding individuals and organizations who share our vision.
Through our daily business activities, we create truly good clothing—garments that offer unprecedented new value. By providing people all over the world with the joy, happiness, and satisfaction of wearing good clothing, we aim to “change the world for the better.” That is the sustainability we strive for.
As such, we are called upon to go beyond the social contribution activities and ethical procurement we have focused on thus far and promote sustainability initiatives that simultaneously address both “business challenges” and “societal challenges.” Therefore, for this position, we are seeking candidates who not only have experience in social contribution initiatives but also possess experience and skills across diverse fields—individuals who resonate with our company’s direction as described above and are eager to take on this challenge with enthusiasm.
■ Missions and Job Descriptions for Each Area
The following duties are anticipated for this position. Since many tasks are closely interrelated, depending on your specific responsibilities, you may be assigned to work across multiple areas.
(1) Factory Working Environment Transformation Team
・To prevent labor issues from arising in the supply chain, identify potential risks, formulate response policies and countermeasures, monitor working conditions, and implement preventive and corrective measures; additionally, communicate these activities both internally and externally (including collaboration with and support for overseas offices).
(2) Social Innovation Team
・Guided by our sustainability statement, “Turning the Power of Clothing into the Power of Society,” we aim to solve social issues and create new value through the apparel business. We contribute to social stability and sustainable development by collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders—including customers, UN agencies, and NGOs—and plan and execute initiatives that make an impact both globally and locally.
(3) Global Environmental Management Team
・In addition to addressing global issues such as climate change and biodiversity, the team implements programs to combat environmental pollution in the supply chain and realize a circular economy, thereby promoting the reduction of environmental impact.
(4) Disclosure Team
・With investors and experts as our primary stakeholders, we aim to enhance corporate value by accurately and comprehensively disseminating sustainability-related information to the public.
・Appropriate disclosure of information across various media, primarily through Fast Retailing’s corporate website
<https://www.fastretailing.com/jp/sustainability/>
・Preparation of the Sustainability Report
〈https://www.fastretailing.com/jp/sustainability/report/〉
・Support for ESG investing
