Job Description
UNIQLO, the core brand of the Fast Retailing Group—which aims to become the world’s No. 1 apparel company—is seeking next-generation leadership candidates to drive new product development, sales, and business growth.
To become a global leader, we have discarded past successes and continued to grow by adapting to the times, creating a new industry—the “Information Manufacturing Retail Industry”—through LifeWear.
Our concept of LifeWear is a completely new approach to clothing that fundamentally transforms the concept of “Western-style clothing” born from Western history.Clothing designed to enrich the lives of everyone, regardless of nationality, race, gender, or age. It embodies aesthetic sensibility and practicality, featuring simplicity, high quality, and meticulous attention to detail. It is everyday wear that is thoroughly thought out based on lifestyle needs and continues to evolve. To create this LifeWear, we must reflect information from customers around the world as quickly and efficiently as possible across all areas of our business—including manufacturing, marketing, and sales—and continue to meet customer demands at an ever-higher level.
Therefore, we are seeking candidates to become the next generation of business leaders in the product division—leaders who will powerfully drive our business growth by continuously creating products that embody LifeWear and delivering them to customers worldwide.
In the future, we expect those who join us now to play a leading role as senior executives—such as department heads or board members—within the Product Division, which serves as the core of UNIQLO’s business. To achieve this through the fastest possible route, we will create personalized career plans for each individual, involving assignments and transfers across multiple departments, so they can gain the experience needed to understand the entire business—a prerequisite for becoming a leader in the product domain.
For example, this includes the “MD Department,” which serves as the command center for product development and business operations; the “Product Planning Department,” which formulates and executes plans to maximize sales and profits for our international operations; and the “Marketing Department,” which communicates the philosophy and stories behind LifeWear to the world.
After being assigned to a department, we expect you to first gain experience as a professional in your assigned field and then take on management responsibilities as a team leader at an early stage. While there are various other departments within the Product Division, we expect you to grow into a leader who can view matters from a high-level perspective as a manager in the product domain—someone capable of overseeing the entire organization rather than focusing solely on the individual optimization of each department.
Please note that for the first one to two years after joining the company, you will work in our physical stores—which embody the very essence of UNIQLO’s business—before being assigned to one of the departments mentioned above.
The Job Description may change depending on department transfers or organizational restructuring, within the scope of duties related to each department within the division.
