Job Description

UNIQLO, the core brand of the Fast Retailing Group—which aims to become the world’s No. 1 apparel company—is seeking next-generation leadership candidates to drive new product development, sales, and business growth.

To become a global leader, we have cast aside past successes and continued to grow by adapting to the times, thereby creating a new industry—the “information manufacturing and retail industry”—through LifeWear.
Our concept of LifeWear is a completely new approach to “clothing” that fundamentally transforms the concept of “apparel” born from Western history.Clothing designed to enrich the lives of everyone, regardless of nationality, race, gender, or age. It combines aesthetic sensibility with practicality, is simple and high-quality, and is full of thoughtful details. It is everyday wear that is thoroughly thought out based on lifestyle needs and continues to evolve. To create this LifeWear, we must reflect information from customers around the world as quickly as possible across all areas of our business—including manufacturing, marketing, and sales—and continue to meet customer demands at an ever-higher level.

Therefore, we are seeking candidates to become the next generation of business leaders in the product division—leaders who will powerfully drive our company’s growth by continuously creating products that embody LifeWear and delivering them to customers worldwide.
In the future, we expect those who join us now to take on leadership roles—such as department heads or executive officers—within the Product Division, which serves as the core of UNIQLO’s business. To achieve this as quickly as possible, we will create personalized career plans for each individual, involving assignments and transfers across multiple departments, so that you can gain the experience needed to understand the entire business—a critical requirement for a business leader in the product domain.

For example, this includes the “MD Department,” which serves as the command center for product development and business operations and is responsible for the development of new hit products that have become synonymous with UNIQLO—such as “HEATTECH,” “AIRism,” and “Ultra Light Down”—as well as for the sales strategies of the products it plans; the “Product Planning Department,” which formulates and executes plans to maximize sales and profits for our overseas operations; and the “Marketing Department,” which communicates the philosophy and stories behind LifeWear to the world.
After being assigned to a department, you will first gain experience as a professional in your area of responsibility, and we expect you to take on management duties as a team leader at an early stage. While there are various other departments within the Product Division besides those mentioned above, we expect you to grow into a leader in the product domain who can view matters from a broad perspective—looking at the big picture rather than focusing solely on the individual optimization of each department—and optimize the entire organization.

Please note that for the first one to two years after joining the company, you will work in our physical stores—which embody the very essence of UNIQLO’s business—before being assigned to one of the departments listed above.
The Job Description may change depending on department transfers or organizational restructuring, within the scope of duties relevant to each department in the division.
