The Fast Retailing (hereinafter “FR”) Group is undergoing a company-wide transformation to create a “new industry” based on the “LifeWear” concept, which transcends traditional industry boundaries. We are seeking a Global HR Manager at GHQ (Global Headquarters) to drive HR transformation and governance across our international operations, with a focus on “organization and people.”

Job Overview

FR’s Global Headquarters (GHQ), located in Japan, is tasked with strongly driving the global business growth of the FR Group and its various brands, which operate approximately 3,600 stores across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.While overseas locations have their own HR departments by country or region, the successful candidate will be responsible for multiple regional or country headquarters. You will collaborate with local management and HR departments while maintaining close communication with GHQ department executives to strengthen the organization and develop talent in order to realize the business strategy for each country.

Specific Responsibilities

While the scope and specific responsibilities will vary by individual, the following is an example:

• Organizational design and staffing to implement regional and country business strategies
• Planning and execution of staffing plans (internal transfers and external hiring)
• Planning and executing global-scale personnel transfers that balance the company’s business needs with individual career goals
• Tracking and visualizing performance evaluations; developing and implementing individualized career plans for employee development
• Measuring organizational culture and employee engagement; planning and implementing solutions for identified issues
• Labor and employment-related matters

*While you will be responsible for some tasks independently, most will be carried out in collaboration with local management and HR teams. Therefore, there will be opportunities to work alongside colleagues on-site (in the assigned country).

As a specialist, you will be responsible for global HR operations across multiple countries and regions. Depending on your contributions and performance, you may be expected to take on organizational management roles (such as department head or team leader) or be assigned overseas as the HR lead for a local business.

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• Individuals who have been involved in transformation projects in roles such as corporate planning or business planning at a business company, or those with experience as an HR Business Partner
• Individuals with at least three years of experience at a consulting firm, including experience working on-site at client locations
• Individuals who can communicate effectively in English in a business context

Annual Salary

• Annual Salary Range: 8.6–17 million yen (Monthly Salary: 540,000–940,000 yen)
• Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
• Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
• Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)

*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, not limited to the figures listed above

Working Hours

Flexible work hours or managerial/supervisory position

• Flexible work schedule

Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; break: 1 hour
Core hours…9:00 AM–2:00 PM
Flexible hours…6:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Overtime may be required

Based on the working hours of the employee’s department; left to the employee’s discretion

Holidays and Leave

Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays; national holidays are considered workdays); annual paid leave, special and bereavement leave, childcare and family care leave programs, etc.
*In addition to paid leave, special leave is granted in the first and second halves of the fiscal year (the number of days granted varies depending on employment status and the affiliated company)
