Organization Overview
The R&D Department, to which you will be assigned, is a group of experts who realize the commercialization of the brand message "YOUR FREEDOM". The department consists of designers and patterners from all divisions of GU, including men's, women's, kids', and merchandise, who work hard every day on product development to deliver fashion that everyone can enjoy.
We research market trends and focus on new materials, designs, and manufacturing processes to create products that exceed our customers' expectations. Under the brand message "YOUR FREEDOM," we will enhance GU's brand value and realize its growth into a truly global brand through product development that meets the needs and delivers "fashion + practicality + low price".
The pattern team to which you will be assigned includes pattern makers from all areas, including women's, men's, and children's wear.
■Duties
You will be responsible for a full range of men's items, from product planning, pattern and specification creation, communication with client factories, sample confirmation, and product launch in collaboration with the MD and Marketing Departments. The target items include all products sold, such as outerwear, bottoms, shirts, cut-and-sewns, innerwear, and loungewear, but at the entry stage, we will decide on the items based on your specialties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting information on products not only in Japan but also overseas, which will lead to the development of products that can be used globally.
You will propose attractive product specifications and fits for the GU store sales floor.
The successful candidate will collaborate with designers in the MD, Production, and R&D departments and directly communicate with suppliers (factories) to develop products with a high degree of perfection.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge/Abilities/Experience
At least 3 years of experience in men's apparel pattern making
Experience with CAD for apparel
Ability to collect market and media information and apply it to pattern work
Desirable knowledge/ability/experience
At least 2 years of grading experience
Language skills are not required, but we welcome applicants who are willing to learn English beyond daily English conversation.
We may ask you to submit your past design drawings and works during the selection process.

There is no upper limit to the number of contract renewals (total period or number of renewals).
■Annual salary
Annual salary range: 4.11-7.84 million yen (monthly salary: 270,000-490,000 yen)
Commuting allowance, overtime allowance, etc. (*All in accordance with our company's regulations)
Bonuses: Semiannual bonus twice a year, year-end bonus (whether or not to be paid and the amount will be decided according to the company's performance and personnel evaluation)
Promotion: Twice a year (determined according to personnel evaluation)
