Job Description

■ Background of the Recruitment
Launched in 2007, UNIQLO’s “UT” line delivers art, music, film, anime, and pop culture from around the world to customers everywhere under the slogan “WEAR YOUR WORLD.”With trending content and an overwhelming variety of colors, patterns, and styles, we enable customers to enjoy wearing what they love and provide clothing that allows each individual to freely express their personality. We are seeking new team members to further evolve our clothing production that embodies “WEAR YOUR WORLD.”

■Job Description
You will be responsible for broadly planning and designing UT products inspired by global pop culture (including art, music, film, and anime). You will create planning materials and presentation boards, and take responsibility for the entire process from design through to the final product and sales.
Specifically, the Job Description will include the following:
・You will develop concepts by conducting multifaceted analyses of trending pop culture, fashion trends, and customer needs.
・Once a project is approved, you will collaborate with other departments and teams, such as the licensing and marketing teams, to design UT merchandise, with a focus on T-shirts.
・During the product manufacturing process, you will lead the selection of data and fabrics in consultation with rights holders, maintain close communication with partner factories, and oversee the process until high-quality products are completed.

■ Career Path
After gaining experience as a UT designer, depending on your aspirations and aptitude, you may have the opportunity to become a leader of the UT design team or transfer to other design teams or departments to broaden your scope as a designer.

Qualifications

■ Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience
・A deep understanding of and strong interest in global pop culture
・Experience in graphic design related to pop culture (art, music, film, anime, textiles, etc.) (3+ years of professional experience)
* Experience applying graphics to actual apparel products at fashion apparel brands is highly desirable
・Proficiency in graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator). (Proficiency in Word and Excel is a plus)

■Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Experience
・Basic conversational English skills (for emails and internal/external meetings, using translation tools if necessary)
・Candidates with knowledge of T-shirt fabrics and materials are highly welcome

Work Conditions

■Company Name

■Employment Type: Contract Employee (Fixed-term contract with a 3-month probationary period)
(Subject to conversion to regular employment starting in the second year if performance and evaluations meet the criteria for regular employment)
*Employment contracts may be renewed based on the company’s operational needs and the employee’s performance (no automatic renewal)
*There is no upper limit on contract renewals (in terms of total duration or number of renewals).

■Annual Salary
・Annual Salary Range: 4.95–7.20 million yen (Monthly Salary: 320,000–450,000 yen)
・Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (※All subject to company regulations)
・Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
・Promotions twice a year (determined based on performance evaluations)
*Salary will be determined based on company regulations, taking into account your previous annual income and experience, not limited to the above.

■ Working Hours
・Standard working hours or flextime system (determined based on job duties, expected role, and assigned department; details will be provided during the job offer interview)
・Standard working hours
8 hours of actual work and 1-hour break between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
・Flexible Work Hours System
Standard daily working hours: 8 hours; Break: 1 hour
Core hours: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Flexible hours: 6:00 AM–9:00 AM and 2:00 PM–8:00 PM (Overtime may apply)

■ Holidays and Leave
Two days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays) Annual paid leave, special leave (including bereavement leave), childcare and nursing care leave systems, etc.
*Whether public holidays are considered days off in addition to the days off listed above will be specified individually in the contract for part-time employees.
*In addition to paid leave, special leave is granted during the first and second half of the fiscal year (the number of days granted varies depending on employment status and the company to which the employee belongs)
