Job Description

■Recruitment Background
GU, a major brand of the Fast Retailing Group, has grown since opening its first store in 2006 under the brand message “YOUR FREEDOM: The freedom to reinvent yourself,” leveraging its strengths of fashionability combined with practicality, and high quality at affordable prices. The brand has now expanded to a sales volume of 300 billion yen and aims for further growth toward 1 trillion yen in sales, as well as evolving into a truly global brand.
To achieve this, in 2026 we appointed Francesco Risso—a globally acclaimed designer—as Creative Director. We are now working to enhance the quality of our products and styling while strengthening our brand marketing communications to ensure they resonate globally.
During this phase of transformation, GU is called upon to further evolve its unique business model—which it has always cherished: “enjoying fashion to the fullest with a minimal number of SKUs and affordable prices”—and deliver this value to customers around the world.
The Marketing Department plays a central role in this effort, and we are seeking marketing professionals who can proactively drive our work while embracing this transformation.

■ Department Overview
The Product Marketing Team, to which you will be assigned, conducts marketing development in tandem with product development. Its role is to translate the value of products into information—such as concepts, visuals, and content—and to create and disseminate these as marketing assets that resonate globally.
In addition, the team plans and executes marketing strategies based on a consistent narrative, ranging from branding to in-store promotions.
Building on the revitalized GU product lineup developed in collaboration with Francesco Rizzo, this organization is currently undergoing a period of transformation aimed at establishing the brand’s position in the global market.

■Job Description
At GU, designers, merchandisers (MDs), and marketing professionals form a single team for each category—including Women’s, Men’s, and Kids’—to drive the entire process from product development to the marketing that delivers products to customers. You will be responsible for everything from strategy formulation to execution, balancing the perspectives of both retail marketing—which drives day-to-day business—and brand marketing—which aims to establish the brand’s position over the medium to long term—to lead business growth in your assigned category.
・Developing seasonal strategies and executing initiatives for your assigned category
• Collaborate with merchandisers and designers to design business strategies and drive sales promotions and marketing campaigns
• Translating product value into information that resonates with customers and developing visual content
・Planning, directing production, and managing the progress of TV commercials, web campaigns, social media, in-store promotions, and other initiatives
• Design and manage cross-channel communications across multiple platforms, including stores, e-commerce, and advertising
・Execute and refine marketing initiatives aimed at creating hit products

With approximately 480 stores domestically and internationally, as well as mass promotions, outdoor advertising, and all other media utilized by GU, this is an environment where you can readily feel the dynamism of your communication initiatives reaching customers directly and quickly. We expect you to maximize the value of products by category and evolve the shopping experience into one that inspires customers to make purchases through coordinated looks.
*The Job Description is subject to change within the scope of duties related to each headquarters department due to departmental transfers or organizational changes.

■Career Path
Immediately upon joining the company, you will serve as a manager driving growth in your assigned category; however, in the future, you will have the opportunity to expand your role as a marketing leader (Manager or Department Head) for brands expanding not only domestically but also globally.
