Job Description

The development areas we envision for in-house development engineers are as follows. Since we manage the entire apparel business process in-house and develop systems end-to-end, and as the company continues to grow globally, there are a wide variety of opportunities for you to make an impact.

• E-commerce Backend Engineer

You will be involved in the design, development, and global deployment of our e-commerce platform suite, built using a microservices architecture.

• DevOps Engineer

You will be involved in the orchestration and operation of containerized applications using Kubernetes, as well as the construction and optimization of CI/CD pipelines to drive the automation of code deployment and testing.

• E-commerce Front-End Engineer (Web)

You will be involved in the design, development, and global deployment of e-commerce front-end systems built using React and Redux.

• Mobile Development Engineer (App)

You will be involved in the design, development, and global deployment of the e-commerce front end for iOS and Android.

• UI/UX Engineer (Web/App)

You will be involved in the design, development, and expansion of UI/UX components built using React and Flutter.

• Global Core System Development Engineer

You will primarily be involved in the development and operation of systems to enhance production, logistics, and distribution—including supply chain management and automated warehouses. You will also be responsible for the development and operation of core systems utilizing SAP products (S/4 HANA Finance, CAR, PI, etc.).

• Generative AI/Machine Learning Engineer

You will collaborate with business owners to lead the development of generative AI and ML systems for systems in areas such as e-commerce, supply chain, product planning, business automation, and customer service centers.

• Data Integration and ETL Development Engineer

You will be involved in building and expanding cloud-based systems for global inter-company data integration and data connectivity.

• Data Lake Development Engineer

You will be involved in the design and development of the data lake and data integration systems that centrally manage the Fast Retailing Group’s big data.

• Fast Retailing Common Global Infrastructure Development Engineer

You will be involved in the in-house development of company-wide common services—such as batch processing, data integration, and authentication/authorization platforms—deployed in the cloud, as well as the deployment of these developed products into business applications.

*There may be opportunities for overseas business trips to countries where the business operates or to visit development partners.

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• All of the following are required
• At least 5 years of programming experience (Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, etc.)
• At least 5 years of experience in basic system design, detailed design, and testing
• At least 3 years of experience in system operations
• Someone who approaches problems with sincerity, maintains a positive attitude, possesses a strong sense of responsibility, and thinks flexibly
• Logical thinking; the ability to understand intentions and context beyond the literal meaning of words and guide others toward problem-solving
• Experience in organizational or project management, or in mentoring subordinates and junior staff
• Someone who can proactively engage in a work environment where English is used on a daily basis. *Fluency is not required at this stage. We provide an environment where you can learn through actual work, as well as support to help you become comfortable with English.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience in developing and operating APIs, batch processes, and similar systems in a B2C context
• Experience building and operating business systems in the fashion and apparel industry or e-commerce
• Experience using cloud services from major providers such as AWS and GCP
• Experience leading engineering teams in a multinational environment
• Experience building commonly used and general-purpose components, such as frameworks and libraries
• Experience building and operating large-scale web services
• Experience building and operating supply chain systems, including production and logistics
• Experience developing and operating systems in collaboration with external partners and system integrators
• Knowledge of automation technologies such as continuous integration and continuous deployment
• Experience with and understanding of testing methodologies and quality management
• Experience with Agile development
• Experience developing distributed systems, highly parallel systems, and high-availability systems

Annual Salary

• Annual Salary Range: 6.56–21.24 million yen (Monthly Salary: 410,000–1,180,000 yen)
• Allowances: Commuting allowance, overtime pay, etc. (*All subject to company regulations)
• Bonuses: Semi-annual bonuses twice a year, year-end bonus (eligibility and amount determined based on company performance and performance evaluations)
