Job Description

■ Recruitment Background:
MADE FOR ALL". There are many kinds of clothes in the world, but UNIQLO has a completely new way of thinking about clothing.
Clothes for all people, transcending all distinctions of nationality, age, occupation, and gender. We aim to create clothes that people around the world can easily afford and that make them look great as a tool for their own lifestyles.
The R&D Department is a group of experts who actually commercialize our "LifeWear" concept. We are looking for new members to help us further evolve the creation of clothing that embodies "LifeWear".

■ Department Overview:
The R&D Department, to which you will be assigned, is comprised of in-house designers and pattern makers at six global locations (Tokyo, Shanghai, Paris, London, New York, and LA) centered in Tokyo. Planning products that match people's living environment, styles, and times, and incorporating designs as actual demand into the "LifeWear" concept. To continuously provide well-thought-out, simple clothing that changes the lives of people around the world for the better and in a richer way. Through our clothes, we aim to continue to bring innovation to the world. This time, we are looking for a person who can work as a goods designer in the R&D department in Tokyo.

■ Job Description:
As a merchandise designer, you will be responsible for developing our merchandise lineup into a pillar of our business growth while simultaneously promoting "planning/design development" and "quality improvement" of merchandise that will be accepted by customers not only in Japan but also globally.
The position will also be responsible for the development of new product proposals and development, based on the understanding of needs that transcend gender and nationality through global market research and trend analysis. The candidate will be responsible for all merchandise items, including bags, hats, belts, scarves, and shoes.
The candidate will lead the entire process from idea generation to product commercialization. You will visit our partner material factories and sewing factories as necessary, and realize manufacturing with a high degree of perfection by putting your own will into it.
You will have a chance to deliver products you have planned and developed to customers around the world. Depending on the product, the number of products sold may range from tens of thousands to millions, making this a position where you can experience manufacturing on a large scale.

Job Description is subject to change within the scope of work related to each department of the headquarters due to departmental changes or reorganization.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Abilities/Experience
At least 3 years of experience as a designer at an apparel company (including companies specializing in goods) (experience in the goods department is desirable)
Types of items: bags, hats, belts, scarves, shoes, and other clothing goods
If you only have experience as an apparel designer, you should be able to propose what kind of items, designs, silhouettes, fabrics and materials match apparel as fashion items, and have the skills to grasp customer needs and incorporate them into designs.
The ability to grasp global trends, creative thinking and design skills.

■Personality Requirements
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control, knowledge of overall merchandise design, and a strong interest in improving the quality and dignity of merchandise.
The ability to grasp new technologies and materials, as well as global trends and needs, and incorporate them into designs in a timely manner.

We may ask you to submit your past design drawings and works during the selection process.

Work Condition

Company name: UNIQLO Inc.

Contract employee (fixed term, probationary period (3 months))
(After the second year, if performance, evaluation, etc. meet the criteria for promotion to permanent employee, the position will be made permanent.)
The employment contract may be renewed in consideration of the company's business needs and the individual's performance (no automatic renewal).
There is no upper limit to the number of contract renewals (total period or number of renewals).

■Annual salary
Annual salary range: 425-8 million yen (monthly salary: 280,000-500,000 yen)
Commuting allowance, overtime allowance, etc. (*All in accordance with our company's regulations)
Bonuses: Semiannual bonus twice a year, year-end bonus (whether or not to be paid and the amount will be decided according to the company's performance and personnel evaluation)
Promotion: Twice a year (determined according to personnel evaluation)

(Not limited to the above, but will be determined in accordance with our company's regulations based on annual salary and experience in previous positions.

Either a general working hour system or a flex-time system (to be determined according to the nature of the work, expected role, and department to which the employee will be assigned, to be announced at the informal interview).
General working hours
8 hours of actual work between 7:00 and 18:00 with 1 hour break
Flextime system

Flexible hours ... 6:00 - 9:00 and 14:00 - 20:00 with overtime

Vacations and Vacations
