Experimental Installation and Operation of Security Camera System with Face Recognition Function at Some UNIQLO (JAPAN) Stores

From August 26, 2024 (Monday), UNIQLO (JAPAN) is conducting a pilot experiment with the installation and operation of a security camera system equipped with facial recognition features at UNIQLO Okachimachi Store and Ikebukuro Tobu Store. The purpose of this experiment is to enhance customer safety and security, as well as to prevent crimes and nuisance behaviors such as theft and vandalism within the store premises by installing facial recognition cameras at store entrances and other locations, and utilizing the images captured by these cameras for facial recognition.

The images captured by the facial recognition security cameras (hereinafter referred to as "Camera Images") and the facial feature data derived from them (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Facial Feature Data") will be used solely for the purpose of preventing the aforementioned crimes and nuisance behaviors. Except as required by law, Facial Feature Data will not be provided to third parties (excluding the following joint use). Facial Feature Data will be securely stored, and access will be limited to the minimum extent necessary in accordance with our company's regulations, and Facial Feature Data will be promptly deleted after the completion of this pilot program.

In this initiative, our company and UNIQLO CO., LTD. will jointly use the following personal data:
