UNIQLO today announces that it will launch a UT (UNIQLO T-Shirt) collaboration with Ladurée's gift brand, Les Secrets Ladurée, from March 12th. Items will be available at UNIQLO stores around Japan and through uniqlo.com. As part of the launch, the first customers bringing lightly-used children's clothing into each store1 for donation to refugees will receive authentic Les Secrets Ladurée macaron charms. Each charm is hand-made by refugee women participating in programs by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for supporting them to become self-reliant.

About Les Secrets Ladurée

Les Secrets Ladurée is a gift collection by Ladurée, the famous French pastry and tea room institution established in 1862. The collection is dedicated to the ever-growing number of the brand's fans around the world. The special UT collaboration includes seven designs, each celebrating one of the iconic motifs from Les Secrets Ladurée, including macarons, pastries, charms and ribbons.

Les Secrets Ladurée macaron charms

Les Secrets Ladurée designed the macaron charms, which refugee Afghan women created as part of UNIQLO's global partnership with UNHCR, acquiring embroidery skills in the process to support their income and to provide an opportunity to be self-reliant.

Partial proceeds from UT sales going to UNHCR

UNIQLO is seeking lightly used children's clothing from customers as part of the UT collaboration with Les Secrets Ladurée. UNIQLO began collecting such garments and donating them to young refugees under its All Product Recycling Initiative in 2006. Children's clothing is particularly important because more than half of refugees today are under 18 years of age and there are typically not enough items available for donation.
