Widespread flooding has caused severe damage across Serbia, forcing tens of thousands to flee their homes and leaving hundreds of thousands without water and electricity.

To support relief efforts, UNIQLO holding company Fast Retailing is donating US$ 50,000 (approximately JPY 5,000,000) to the people of Serbia through its Government. In addition, it plans to provide clothing, for which specific needs are under review and assessment.

The Fast Retailing Group collaborates with Serbian-born tennis pro Novak Djokovic, through his role as UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador, to support disaster relief and address poverty worldwide, and the company immediately secured his backing for the relief efforts for his homeland.

Fast Retailing is a committed responsible corporate citizen worldwide. In October of 2012, UNIQLO and Novak Djokovic together launched the Clothes for Smiles project, to give kids a brighter future through eight related projects. As one of these, in November 2013, Clothes for Smiles provided children living in refugee centers in Serbia the experience to "shop" for free donated clothing, to help provide a sense of normalcy and fun in lives that had been turned upside down.
