At Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., ("Fast Retailing"), Person's With Disabilities (PWD) work together with those not facing disability unimpeded, supporting each other and growing together.

In order to promote employment for the long term, Fast Retailing accommodates individual employee needs, assigning tasks based on the specific abilities of each employee - whether that be stock management, cleaning, customer service, or alterations. Through close communication with PWD employees, staff come to understand the needs of people unlike themselves, which is valuable in serving customers.

Fast Retailing firmly believes in the importance of expanding this approach to the employment of PWDs to encompass group brands worldwide, and enjoys the support of the families of PWD employees, and its customers.

Fast Retailing set the goal of employing at least one PWD at each of its UNIQLO stores in Japan in 2001, and within Japan in 2013 alone newly hired 161 PWDs, so that PWDs now represent 6.64% of the workforce - well in excess of Japan's legal requirement of 2% for organizations with ten thousand or more employees. From 2005 to 2013, Fast Retailing for nine years running ranked number one for the employment of PWDs in Japan. This is testament to Fast Retailing's commitment to help eliminate discrimination in all of its forms.
