UNIQLO opened its first store in mainland China in Shanghai in September 2002 and had steadily expanded its network to 113 stores by the end of December 2011. Having established a firm framework for personnel training and store development, UNIQLO China is now embarking on a period of dramatic development and mass store openings with 60 new stores set to open for business in fiscal 2012 alone. The success of our Shanghai global flagship store, the Shanghai West Nanjing Road Store opened in May 2010, has boosted UNIQLO's brand appeal dramatically in China.
