Brand Introduction
In March 2005, FAST RETAILING began expanding its shoe business by establishing ONEZONE CORP., the operator of the FOOT PARK footwear chain, as a FAST RETAILING Group subsidiary. The Group then acquired VIEWCOMPANY CO., LTD. (operator of the VIEW footwear chain, which specializes in women's shoes) to form GOV RETAILING and create a SPA business model (Specialty store retailer of Private label Apparel), an approach that spans every aspect of operations, from planning, design and production to the final sale. In April 2010, GOV RETAILING's shoe business was merged with UNIQLO's shoe business. As of late August 2010, there were 90 specialty shoe stores under the CANDISH brand.
Growth Strategy
UNIQLO CO., LTD. in April 2010 began reconfiguring its shoe business to establish a SPA business model. UNIQLO's shoes, like its clothing, offer quality, comfort and fashion at reasonable prices.
These new, original products &mdash which include features such as impact-absorbing, cushioned soles &mdash are now available. In addition to the CANDISH brand, FAST RETAILING will offer products under the UNIQLO SHOES brand at all large-format stores and the UNIQLO online store.
