At UNIQLO, we are currently discussing ways to expand the initiative from the provision of relief clothing to support that increases self-sufficiency.We are also pursuing activities in Japan, such as by collaborating with schools and collecting used clothing from locations other than our stores, so that one item can be delivered annually to every refugee the world over (approximately 36 million persons).
Activities to Support Self-Sufficiency
As a first step, we plan to offer sewing machines and fabric. In addition to this material support, we are also looking into the practicality of transferring basic skills for making clothing, such as sewing.

Collaboration with Schools
In FY 2010, we had the cooperation of the Tokyo Education Committee to engage in activities with 6 high schools.
Chihaya High School
At Chihaya High School, students do voluntary work as a part of a class on NPOs. During the school's culture festival on September 11 and 12, the students collected a total of 1,296 items with cooperation from local residents, parents, other students and faculty members.
