Although we do everything possible to ensure the quality of our products, we have conducted three product recalls. UNIQLO takes this situation very seriously. Our quality and safety control team is at the core of our efforts to prevent such problems from recurring. We are working to raise product quality and safety levels even higher in order to earn the trust of all our customers.
June 2006 Recall of Baby Shorts
Thorough safety control on formaldehyde (formalin)
Since baby shorts were recalled in June 2006 (where normally not-used formalin was detected during the production among print additives,) UNIQLO has not manufactured nor sold this product.
Inspections for formalin use during dye and sewing processes of UNIQLO BABY products and for inside the factories themselves have been carried out. Also, UNIQLO has obtained Oeko-Tex Standard 100 to all the UNIQLO BABY products for ensuring our safety control.
September 2005 Recall of Boys’ Panel Swim Shorts
Materials for gentle on skins
