We at Fast Retailing mourn the many victims of this horrible natural disaster and our thoughts are with their families and people close to them. We extend to them our deepest condolences in this time of sadness. In this difficult time, the Fast Retailing Group and its personnel are coming together to do their utmost to leverage the group's resources to help support and lead the nation on its path to recovery.

The Fast Retailing Group has been collecting contributions at its stores worldwide to send to organizations including the Japanese Red Cross Society and other national Red Cross Societies.
We would like to thank our customers around the world who have shown their goodwill through their charitable donations.

The amount gathered as of the end of July : 268,125,233 yen (Approximately 3,488,034 US Dollars)

SAVE JAPAN T-SHIRTS

SAVE JAPAN! A limited edition collection of T-shirts, designed by 10 world famous celebrities with message of support to Japan.

The "SAVE JAPAN!" website was established immediately after the Great East Japan Earthquake to support the affected parts of the country by providing information on area-specific relief efforts. UNIQLO is working with the Condé Nast Group--a supporter of the "SAVE JAPAN!" website and the publisher of VOGUE JAPAN and GQ JAPAN--to create T-shirts featuring messages of encouragement from artists around the world.
UNIQLO plans to donate a part of sales of "SAVE JAPAN!" T-shirts to the Japanese Red Cross Society, to back recovery efforts in northeastern Japan.

Program to donate a part of sales

Along with its customers, UNIQLO wanted to contribute to the recovery of the disaster-stricken areas. As such, it began a program to donate a part of its sales to recovery efforts.
The donations were made using money gathered through a disaster-aid fundraising program held at domestic UNIQLO stores from April 9 to 10 and again from April 23 to May 8, during which 100 yen was set aside as a donation from each purchase of designated UNIQLO products.

Monetary contributions and relief goods

Relief goods

At the outset of the disaster, Fast Retailing donated approximately 700 million yen worth of items as relief goods, including HEATTECH, fleece, innerwear and towels; and 120 Fast Retailing volunteers traveled to the disaster-hit areas to distribute these items in cooperation with NPOs.
Starting Saturday, June 11, we also began donating another 220,000 UNIQLO products, valued at approximately 240 million yen, to people in the affected parts of Miyagi, Fukushima and Iwate prefectures. These products included essential items for the summer season such as dry polo shirts, underwear and socks. On this occasion also, 58 volunteers from our Group traveled to the stricken areas to help distribute these relief items.

From Saturday, September 17, Fast Retailing will begin sending another 80,000 UNIQLO products valued at approximately 120 million yen, to earthquake survivors in Iwate, Fukushima, and Miyagi prefectures. These products will include warm winter clothing, such as the Ultra Light Down, knitwear, and everyday essentials like the HEATTECH and other underwear from the fall/winter collection.

Monetary contributions

Fast Retailing Group : 200 million yen.
Fast Retailing Group employees worldwide : 180 million yen.
Fast Retailing President, Chairman and CEO Tadashi Yanai : 1 billion yen.
These funds were sent to the Japanese Red Cross Society*.
*NPOs and other organizations also involved in reconstruction support efforts received 100 million yen, half of the total donation from the Fast Retailing Group.
